Underbody surface rust

I was thinking of treating the surface rust of some of the underbody metal parts on my 126 with rust nuetralizing paint. Most of the car underbody has factory rust treatment however I recall seeing some rust covered metal parts when the car was on a hoist at the dealer... parts like cross members, suspension parts, etc. I saw a few companies advertising the product in Hemmings and it appears it is widley used in car restorations. Has anyone tried using this paint with any success? Obviously I would prepare the surfaces to be painted with a wire brush and carfully apply around areas that should'nt be treated.
