detailing questions

I have a 1984 300D which was repainted Blue metallic about 8 years ago. This car has some minor swirl marks aswell as Oxidations and some scratches through the paint, but not through the primer.
I plan on buying a Porter Cable 7424 buffer along with a wide array of pads, but i'm still unshure about what kind of polish/compound and wax I should use?

MY car has not seen a buffer in several years so I need to know what kind of products I would need to buy in order to give my car the propper shine. I washed my car 2 days before I took the pictures.

Thanks Joe

RE: detailing questions

Typical MB paint is soft (except the new ceramic clearcoasts). I would use a medium grade polishing pad with Meg's #80. Put a good amount of pressure on the pad and move really slow, keep the product wet (don't work the product until it's dry). The next step up is #83 but start with the least aggresive product first because you don't want to remove more paint than you have to. You can get Meg's pro products online from their website or countless others or at local auto paint/body shop supply stores. Stay away from consumer grade polishes like Meg's #9 Swirl Remover, it's too weak to do any good.
