If Armorall is not to be used on dashes, is there somethng else to protect 'em?

RE: Dash

you can use 303, the low sheen protectant used on airplanes, plexiglas, etc... I get mine from the local spa store, used on spa covers which disintegrate in the sun quickly.

Greg

p.s. I assume my dash in my '03 sl is plastic, not leather, even though it has stiching in it near the passenger airbag... do you know if this is true?

RE: Dash

Thanks for the 303 tip, Greg. I'd guess you're right about yours, but don't know for sure.

RE: Dash

Look up the 303 stuff, more of a protectant and sunscreen. The big differense is it keeps the matte dash from becoming shiny.

Apparently has the most sunscreen. Not all have any.

You will find this product at a lot of detailing websites.

RE: Dash

I'll definately look up the 303 (and it sounds familiar), because my dash is extremely reflective, despite being dark brown. I surely need to make it more matte! And I would like to try something to protect it.

RE: Dash

I also use it on my Audi A8L. Audi went to extreme lengths to make a matte, nonreflective dash, and once the shiny armorall hits it, it's really glary in the sun.

I've used 303 on it for 2 years, and it's the best protectant I've tried, and I've tried about 10 different ones.

RE: Dash

Is the 303 a cleaner or a protectant?

Thanks..

RE: Dash

Protectant... uv and "life extender".... works well on all plastics, and does not make shiny... have used for 9 years, no cracks in any dash...
