Microfiber vs Microfiber - There Is A BIG Difference

I just ordered two "blue" waffle weave Microfiber towels from two different suppliers mentioned in an earlier thread. Even though they look almost identical in side by side viewing, there is a MAJOR difference in drying performance.

One of them dries my Geländewagen 100% with one swipe; and, when it finally reaches the saturation point with absorbed water, it does start to leave a little bit behind. Attempts to wring it out, don't yield much liquid.

The other does not ever completely dry the truck and, from the start, will always leave about 5-10% of the water behind as very fine droplets. Repeat swipes do not produce a dry surface. Also, when this one reaches it's saturation point, it is very easy to wring it out; but there isn't any improvement in the 5-10% water residue left behind.

Obviously, the first one is a better product; and I'll order more. A Geländewagen has a lot of surface area to dry.[;)]

Thanks for the research, but you forgot to mention the two companies, and which one you liked.

properautocare.com and pakshak.com. I liked those from the first one better. I've just ordered another pair from properautocare. It will be interesting to see if the quality is the same.

I have never bought any waffle weave from Pakshak, just regular 16x16 microfibers for general detailing. He has great regular microfibers, and his price is incredible. Proper Auto Care has priced their regular microfibers pretty high. (if you order any regular mf's from pakshak, first e-mail me and I can explain how to get a better price on them bjwebster@benzworld.org)
The microfiber market seems to be getting more and more vendors all the time.
For smaller waffle weaves for general detailing, Autopia Car Care has some incredibly soft smaller towels, I use them for removing wax, quick detailing, etc. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/
