I don't know about Bon Ami but I think I remember hearing thats its ok to use...However, I know you can use a cleanser called "BarKeepers Friend". You can get it at any grocery store. It will not scratch the glass and doesn't leave as much residue as regular cleansers. I use it about 4 times a year on my windshields to get rid of road grime. It also is great for getting waterspots off glass......Its cheap, simple, and quick and it does the job....Better than any glass cleaner or polish that I've used. It was also featured on "2 Guys Garage" on Speedvision.

the beemer way to clean glass

my best friend works for BWM detailing cars all day long. glass is glass, when it comes to beemers or benzs, so take heed to his advice for cleaning the windows. he actually uses steel wool on the outside, and while u'd thing it'd scratch it up, it wont (test in the corner to be see). u can also rub off the window manufacture stuff if u'd like but i may damage the tinting on the inside so i wouldnt recomend it.

anyway, it gets off every little thing from the outside. DO NOT use a razor or something similar to try to get off little things which adhere to ur auto-glass, for this will scratch it.

Re: the beemer way to clean glass

The grade of steel wool is important!

Only use "0000" (Super-fine/finest). Anything coarser (e.g. "000", "00", etc.) will scratch the glass.
