Hi! I just took a 1992 S600L into my possession.I am really excited about dealing with all the fixing dilemas this auto may pose, but I just love driving it. I have a 1991- 190e and just sold a 1992- 300e that I had owned for 3 years.I live in Chilliwack, but have had service on the 190e at Eurotech in Abbotsford. They do good work and I would recommend them based on that experience. Anyone else have the V-12 engine?

I haven't dealt with Flying Tiger but I will soon be bringing my '72 220 into Henneken. They are one of the few MB shops that still has the knowledge of the older models and all the tools for the new ones too.

Valley Eurotech in Abbotsford is also highly recommended but I have not done business with them myself.

Europe's Auto in Langley is great and I have dealt with them a bunch when I lived out that way, but I believe the owner (Paul) may have retired/semi-retired so I am not sure who is running the show there now or how the work is.

My only advice for Henneken is to nail them down to a firm price before they start work as Hans is very thorough and wants to bring everything back to factory spec, this can get pricey if lots of work needs to be done.

Norwescan

Just wanted to add full props to Norwescan in Burnaby. Victoria really knows her W124's and diagnosed a ball joint problem over the phone. When we sourced out the parts it turned out the 4matic parts are more expensive, but labour turned out to be easier, so it cost less than a regular ball joint replacement. She also correctly diagnosed some other problems without too much investigation, and they do the work quickly.

Warning: crowded shop, though. Make sure to book.

I've upgraded the headlights to Euro style Bosch since this photo... wow what a difference

the thing with Henneken is that some people like it there and some people hate it to a level that will do a BBB complain. So, it is that either they will fix it or they will screw you over with your car and your wallet.

Red face Euro Otto Sport - Port Coquitlam

Euro Otto Sport in Poco has my 2000 C280 right now. Otto is giving it a once-over, and fixing a rough idle issue. Seems like a good guy. A friend of mine highly recommended him.

I'm glad to find any mechanic who answers his own phone and works on the cars himself. Fingers crossed.

+1 for Norwescan. Not inexpensive, but they really know their stuff.

Otto (Euro Otto Sport in Port Coquitlam) seems like a great guy. A friend of mine told me a story about him. He was having trouble with a noise from his rear suspension in his Jetta. Otto (Euro Otto Sport) spent hours working on it and was unable to diagnose the problem. No charge for labour as he was unsuccessful.

My experience with him yesterday: Parts and Labour $750 for a thorough inspection of car, stem to stern. Plugs and wires were replaced (12 of them on a C280). He was very easy to deal with. He doesn't deal with charge cards or debit, so on the phone I asked him the total so I could stop by the bank. He told me not to worry, just come get the car, and pay by cheque, or mail in a cheque when I got home.

Furthermore, I had prearranged with my dealer as part of the sales contract that the dealership would reimburse me for the cost of bringing the car up to snuff. So Otto told me not to worry. He would deal invoice the dealership directly. He's a bit of a character, but trustworthy. He won't scam you. He reported a few things on my car that would need attention soon, but didn't pressure me into doing things that he felt could wait.

regret

I won't go back to Norwescan again. I got "disaster" customer service over the phone. Once I asked her bringing some of my own parts then she starting to lose herself and just gone crazy. They might know their stuff but they shouldn't underestimate other shop. By the way I dealt with them before and they will charge whatever they need to charge too. They just lost my business forever. Period...

Hennecken in Vancouver gets my vote. Recently had the ABC line replaced and he did the work in two hours less than anticipated and he passed the savings on to me. He also did my front shocks (Arnott's) and saved me a bundle over what the dealership quoted.
