Just had an A Service done on my B200T by Eddy at Flying Tiger in Richmond, BC. For those who don't know, Eddy used to race M-B's. He was also the first person to bring AMG parts into Canada in 1980. I have no financial interest in Eddy, just happy he did the A service for about 40% of what Mercedes Richmond quoted me. When I was there he had apart: a Smart car, a CL600, and a CL500. Great lil understated shop, fair prices, qualified Benz Tech.

Henneken Auto

$240 for a Transmission fluid change. I asked them. They said they are using OEM fluid and filter.
Agreed, Henneken Auto is probably the best place to take your classic Mercedes for service. Hans and his techancians are very knowledgeable about those older Mercedes. The only down side is the cost. Their shop rate is actually reasonable at $90 /hr. However, Han's philosophy of fixing a problem = restoring car back to the condition that it was like the day it lefts factory means changing out a lot of parts even if it's not completely worn out. He believes in preventive measures, so it is these additiional parts that usually adds up in the end. Also, Hans uses mostly factory parts, so his price on parts is almost identical as to what you have paid at the dealer with slight discount somtimes.
So be prepared when he presents you with the quote after the initial inspection.
Otherwise, if you can walk in with your own parts, for knowledge, expertise and quality of work Henneken is hard to beat.

For guys in the lower mainland, check out Juan @ Juan's Auto Service in Richmond. He definitely knows his euro's and has all the newest equipment. He has a STAR diagnostic system for the newer cars as well.

MB Euromotors

I've been going to Bernie for about 3 years. First my 190E 16 Valve Cossy, and for the past couple of years, my W124 500E.
I've been very happy with the work, and his knowledge of the cars from that era. He seems to know the W140 very well. Bernie is MB trained, has had shop for about 10 years. West 7th/Yukon, in Vancouver. He is a partner in Bullet Racing, and builds race Porsches

West Coast Alignment and Frame on Powell in Vancouver, the owner is a big MB fan, loves the cars and all the mechanics seem really dedicated, top quality work. I have been going there for 20 years, all the film industry Teamsters go there. I had my front end rebuilt by them on my 300SD Turbodiesel, on time on budget and they back up thier work. Do I need to say I highly reccomend them?[
I even bought all my oil change supplies w/ fuel filters and begged them to do the work, he told me they dont do oil changes, I said I was tired of shoddy workmanship and how my car had been damaged by hamfisted morons working on it, he asked me if I could have it there by 8am. Not cheap, but cheap isnt worth a lousey job....

Werner's Auto Klinic in Tilbury Ind. Park (Delta)

Our business is in Tilbury Ind. park. EVERYONE in our office gets their cars repaired at Werner's. (5 minutes east of the south end of the tunnel). His shop has doubled in size/space in the last year, and staff has grown. Though he's a factory-trained BMW mechanic, they fix everything.
There are always a few 'Benz there getting safetied after being imported from the US. But our staff own everything from Chev. Cavalier and Ford Taurus to Suzuki 4x4s and a Japanese Isuzu diesel. And 3 VW TDIs. They fix them all.
But mostly, Werner is fixing BMW, Benz, and Audi's (including the 3 A6's we've had).
PLUS: he's very happy if you bring in your own parts. I buy German parts (mostly Meyle) online for 20 - 40% of retail. They just want to fix cars and don't care to be in the parts business.
ALSO: they will fix what you came in for and stop. If they find serious problems they will phone you to discuss. But they don't go over your car looking for anything with cracked rubber and replacing it (like some shops do). No big surprises when you get the bill!
MINUS: not much of a discount over dealers. Shop rate is > $100/hour. BUT they are fast and efficient, and will stick with a quote, even if they take double the time estimated.

If you're nearby (maybe Tsawwassen?) they'll pick-up and drop-off. Another positive sign is I've met customers returning as long as he's been open. All business is word-of-mouth (no advertising).
