I've been there before, they fixed my front bumper, the job have been properly finished. But their customer service is a nightmare.

I got an '89 420 SEL and after talking to Parry from the forum and Victoria from Norwescan Motors. Victoria is very knowledgeable MB specialist. She is the best Ive been to. She did my PPI and various other jobs. Her problem solving skills are excellent. Reasonable rates. Her staff are great guys who know what they are doing. She is the best for your Mercedes Benz. Knows her MB inside out.

I have ordered a ton from Auto Parts in Canada! - Canada Auto Parts Online good prices and good parts. Shipping was free over $75 order value. STAY AWAY from rockauto from all I was told. They are actually out of the US and ship from several places so you can get a huge shipping bill.

I have a ML320 and I asked about parts on the w163 forum. I don't know the chassis type or number for yours but I'd try there for what parts are good or what to stay away from.

If you're here in BC and close to the border you might consider having your parts shipped to a mail drop just over the border in Blaine, WA.

I've been doing this for a couple years now and have saved thousands in duty, exchange rate and shipping costs as well as lots of time when stuff gets held up in customs!

I use 24/7 Parcel now in Blaine after trying a few others. They are very convenient as the name implies they are open 24/7/365. 24/7 PARCEL - Ship it here

Gentlemen,

My friend is stuck near Vancouver BC, and his first generation 722.6(non-tiptronic) transmission decided to fail on him on his W140 Coupe, and no can trouble-shoot his problem, yet everyone wants to sell him a used transmission or a new one for a tune of $4k to $6k Canadian..

I did not ask what city my friend is in, but does ANYONE know a INDIE repair shop that knows transmissions, or a great transmission shop that knows how to troubleshoot?

Personally, I know how to repair these transmissions, but to have it towed from Canada to Northern California USA is about $1500 USD is wasting money to deliver the car to me.

I Think my friend may need a pressure regulating solenoid/pressure valve in valve body or the torque converter impeller failed...Which those items, do not constitute transmission replacement, but only a good tech would know how to troubleshoot and repair...

Any suggestions and recommendations?

Thank you,

Martin

Hi Martin

You should probably post this to the general forum as a new topic as this will get buried here. How close to Vancouver is he?
