I've been going to see Charlie McNally of McNally Auto Service for 6 years now. He's an MB/BMW specialist but will work on anything. He is as honest a guy as I've ever encountered, has fair pricing with an $85 per hour shop rate, and only charges for the time on the car, not by flat rate. I don't ever hestitate to recommend him.

I absolutely second that.
I have known him for about 8 years now and have always been happy with the service and prices.
He has grown from a small, 3 bay operation to a multibay service center, you can't do that without a loyal and happy customer base.
He has a very good reputation, doesn't play games or charge people over.
I have sent friends to him and they have never complained.
Try him and see if he can make your ride happy.

He doesn't mind if you want to bring your own parts, either.

Excellent, I will give him a try. I just bought my 1998 SLK230 just before summers end last year and was looking for a reputable mechanic and on the plus side I live in North York.

Thanks for the post,

Cheers,

Forli Motors is incredible!

Lou Forli has been in business for about 40+ years and is a venerable GOD when it comes to MB service.

He works (and owns) everything from late 1960's Benz's to newer vehicles and so far I have been thoroughly impressed with his service.

Great personable and honest. Hard to find in most shops.

He is located @ Parliament and Richmond.

Check him out.

Agreed - does not stand behind his work, states that he uses Mercedes-Benz parts and does not... Had brakes replaced on ML500 here and have had numerous problems ever since. Finally had enough of the problems and took my ML to downtown Mercedes to replace all brake components with OEM parts. Turns out the parts used were all after market: rotors, pads, calipers shaved to accommodate after market pads... nothing but problems.

I highly recommend Lees Autoservice on Green Lane on Thornhill. Had bodywork done and paintjobs. Whatever he estimates is what you pay and they do a paint job that makes factory paint take a backseat.

Will check out McNally for my next service needs.

I highly recommend Fred Cutone of BMC Auto Collision

20-140 Bradwick Dr
Concord ON, L4K 1K8

Phone #: 905-660-0848

As honest a guy as I have ever met, I met him through his daughter, who I know from work. He has been honest with me to his own disadvantage when it came to quoting the jobs I wanted done on my car.

Top knotch guy. Also does most, if not all of the work for Avanti Mazda.

As far as body shops are concered I highly recommend Universal Auto Body. Located in North York. Chris does awesome work, he did the work on my car when i nearly had the whole front end blown off. at his shop you'll find Rolls Royces', Porsches, Ferraris, custom hot rods etc.. And quotes an honest price.

I just got my 1989 260E back from "Leon's Auto Body", 9 Varley Cres. North York, after a recommendation from Charlie at "McNally Auto", 49 Toro Rd, North York. I couldn't be happier. The car looks like it just rolled out of the showroom 20 years ago. Both Charlie McNally, Frank-the "Juggler"and crew, plus Boris and his crew at "Leon's" are at the top of their game. Excellent, knowledgeable craftsmen who are honest and fair.

"McNally" is the name of the mechanic shop - "McNally Auto, Mercedes Benz Specialists". Talk to the owner, Charlie McNally or Frank, who is on the front desk, about winter tires. For the "Spider Swirls" you need to ask for Tascu (He's Romanian) at "Leon's Auto Body". They do incredible work on every high-end car out there, as well as your average 'driver'. If Tascu isn't in, check with the owner, Boris, or his son, Avi. None of these guys will disappoint you.

Alright Stooz thank you for the help, truly appreciate it. Didn't have winter tires on the ML this last year the behemoth was swerving all over the place. Dealership told us we had all season tires when really the were summer. Foolish stealerships. None the less, Will Charlie recommend Leon's shop himself? Or is your recommendation purely of personal experience? One again, thank you.

Charlie recommended "Leon's" to me. As you know, I couldn't be happier with the end result on my '89 260E.
For the best price on tires anywhere in the GTA, go to "Consumer's Tire", 3295 14th Avenue, Markham, Ontario L3R 0H3 1-888-652-1313/905-479-9030 Ask for John. Tell him Stu Daly sent you. And, if you get there before me, tell him I'll see him soon, for my 3rd set this year for different projects, to mount on my 'new' Brabus wheels being shipped here for the 260E.

Alright Stooz if you say it's worth it I will take your word for it! Also can anyone recommend good summer/spring tires for my ML 500? Also can anyone also recommend good winter tires for under. For the summer tires I was thinking i would put them on the standard 19 inch rims. Also do they also sell some aftermarket rims? Thanks fo tthe help in advanced Stooz!

I saw someone's late 80s, early 90s E-class at McNally's (could have been your car Stooz!) that was done by Leon's, they did a great job... but obviously be sure your engine is worth the investment

i was considering taking my car to Leon's too but the body work would probably be more than what i paid for it :crybaby2:
