How do you reset the service indicator on a Mercedes?
This may take a couple of trys.
Make sure the doors are shut.

1) Turn key to position 2.
2) Press/release the R button to show the next service due light. Release button.
3) Turn key to Off.
4) Press and HOLD the same R button to view the service light, THEN, within 2 seconds, turn key to position 2.
5) Wait up to 10 second and the light will reset to show new service .

I have a 2006 cls which I have put 9100 miles on. I had my 1st Mobil 1 oil change / service done at 6100 miles 12/07. I now have 9100 miles one year later. Based on all info I have read, I should use the one year rule for my next oil change? If I use this rule I still have the service indicator to deal with. The car needs no service other than the oil change. How do I reset the service indicator for the 2006 cls? Dealer said I must come in and they use their million dollar machine!!!Thanks for any answers to the newbie!

Thats not true. Some of the guys at my work dont know how to do it through the instrument cluster so they just use the SDS but its not necessary. So here is how to do it.
1. get in and close the door
2. put key in and put in ignition
3. turn key to position 2
4. press reset button 3 times quickly
5. use steering wheel buttons to navigate the folders

*you want to select service confirmation
