Hey y'all. I have something to add to this little forum regarding my Seat experience; maybe it will help someone out there.
I have a W222, 2019 S450 that I picked up in Germany nearly five years ago. Last week, the passenger seat controls on the door went dead: no heat, and no movement of any of the adjustments. I thought it must be a fuse, but no, it was not.
I decided to take it to the shop, against my better judgement. But, I'm no mechanic. Anyway, got a call that they would need to remove the inside door panel to continue the search for the problem, and they wanted 1 hour of time to do it at $180/hr. Okay.
They called back in 20 minutes and said that once in, the tech disconnected the wiring from the switch, reconnected it, and Voila! I could have done that, and so can almost anyone. I'm not bitter, just disappointed in myself for not at least making an attempt.
So there you have it. If you have a similar situation, spend 20 minutes (plus 5 on YouTube to watch how easy removing the door panel is) and maybe you can save some cash, but more importantly, maybe you'll give yourself a pat on the back.
