2004 CLK 320 I wish to add a hands free phone, but do not know which threed in telemtrics forum. I have the standard radio, not the cpmmand, but I would like to be able to use all of the cars phone features, i.e. voice activiation, and steering wheel commands. Any help would be great. There ius an outlet in the center console for a plug, but I do not know where to go from here

Is this an easy mod to do? I have had the ECU/computer changed to say that phone pre-wire is installed. I had this done for my iPod install which now works fine with the phone (NO PHONE) menu showing up in the speedometer display.

I would be interested to know how big a job this is to do. If I have to do major modifications to the entire car then I will not bother. However if I can do the installation in a couple of hours and it does not cost a fortune, I may consier it.

I have not done it yet, I am still trying to find out if it can be done inexpesively, and have not been to the dealer to find out if all I need is a cable for the adapter plug already in the center console, or a far more involved and expensive option. I am considering just buying an LG chocolate phone and a JABRA fm transmitter, total cost of $99.99, and it will play the music on the LG phone as an mp3 in stereo.

Bill, as a reference point I had the pre-wiring in my '07 CLK and spent over $600 on the module and bluetooth puck. I preferred having the integrated functionality (steering wheel buttons, auto-mute stereo upon incoming call, etc.) over an aftermarket BT system, so it was worth it to me. If you go the route I went, I suggest looking up cellguy85 on Ebay (his first name is Keith; PM me for his phone number); not only does he specialize in new and used phone equipment, but he is very helpful -- especially if you decide to do the install yourself (took me about 90 minutes). And he gives Benzworld discounts!!!
