Paint touchup on w208

I'm a new DIYer getting a 2000clk320 a month ago. I've decided I won't go to a mechanic for anything So far so good. I'm wondering what I should do about some paint touchups.

I'm not opposed to someone doing paint work, since it can be done without a mercedes mechanic or german car shop work on it. The parts are expensive but the labor is way to expensive and it doesn't have to be. With what I've been told "it's a mercedes the labor just is a lot more." And it's basically just accepted. This site has DIYers and those thtat pay to get stuff done. I don't have anything against people paying to get work done, I just don't have the money. I've been forced to do the work.

So that said I'm greatful for this site. Now for the paint I'm torn what to do. I think paint work doesn't need to be done by a mercedes specialist. A good body shop can do it. But while the price could be good, if I go to the wrong place the car is just going to look off. I have some stuff I can buffer out, 2 spots where it looks almost like dog bit it. So it need puddy or whatever they'd use. And 3-4 spots where the paint has chipped down to the primer.

What is a good price to get that fixed properly. I'm likely going do it myself, but I'm trying to see what people think is a good price to get that done.

Also does anyone know any good shops in the Los Angeles area?

I just got my CLK back from the bpdy shop, I got each wheel arch rubbed back and painted, the grill and boot lock done too as it needed tidying up due to a little rust. It cost me £300 total.
Google currency converter to see what that is in your money

If you spend any money spend it on the body work and paint. Cost depends on how many panels need to be painted. you could fix the holes with alil bondo or small fiberglass patch if bigger for like 25 bucks from kragen. sand it down smooth, Then have the paint guy spray it. It could be cheap, but good paint isnt cheap :(

Had my rear arches done 6 months ago by a body shop, noticed today that the very inner sharp edge is colouring up again so they mustn't have got enough paint on the edge. Should take it back but it's only a tiny tidy up job so ill do it myself. Luckily Hammerite smoothrite silver is an almost perfect match for brilliant silver , had 2 front wings and some tidying up done and that's all ok. Cost me £1k for everything but made my car look like new. Just got to wait for good weather now to clay and rewax it.

They are great cars and in my opinion worth spending a bit on to keep running.

Have to say Alek yours is a stunner.
