First things first: This is not a dipstick in the conventional system. It's a tool designed to measure the level, you use it and remove it.
There are two ranges on the stick tool, one for cold fill (25c) after a service and the other (80c) for setting the final level. Park on level ground, fluid temp at 80c, your target is the middle of the range, which spans only 10mm on the stick.
Absent a leak or a fill after service, there is no need to check it regularly. You'll use the tool, then replace the cap and a new locking pin if you wish.
You may wish to head over to the 210 forum and read the 722.6xx FAQ page for lots of information about your transmission.
Should I be running or switched off when checking with tool? Also were shOuld the gear selector be? And one final question...Why over to the 210 forum? Does the 210 use the same gearbox?
Cheers.....Keith
