Unexpected Oil Leak

My car has been sitting up for 3 months and I just started it and noticed a leak on my passenger side manifold. Why would your car start to leak after left to sit for that long? Is it the valve cover gasket, other gasket, plugs, etc?

Thanks in Advance.

my mercedes tech said that these cars are not built to take on short trips and should not be left to sit there without driving it. he said that all the fluids and lubricants begin to settle to the bottom of the engine and the seals begin to go bad. i had a major oil leak and had no idea wea it was coming from. turns out it was the oil galley reservoir

It's not just Benz.

The single worst thing you can do to a car is park it for extended periods. Seals and gaskets dry out, fuel gums and varnishes, etc.

The second worse thing you can do is drive predominantly short trips that don't allow the car to reach operating temperature and run at temp for a while. While that at least moves lubricants around (preventing the problems noted in the single worst thing above), it adds contaminants to the oil and never burns off moisture.

Take care and enjoy the ride,

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

Looks like mine is a leaking valve cover gasket. Bought the gasket for 21.98 planning to change it. Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!!!
