Low refrigerant? What to do?
On my 2000 CLK 320 my A/C built in diagnostic test gives me this error code:
And it means this:
Explanation: You're low on refrigerant! Get your A/C recharged and this should go away. This code disables your A/C. You may be able to bypass this block if it's triggered by a defective sensor.
I bypassed the disabled A/C but the air still doesn't feel any colder, but at least I can turn the econmoy mode light on and off as if my A/C was working.
So I phoned up a local auto shop and they told me they can recharge it for 250 bucks or so, BUT chances are it will just leak out in a week...so I've been told there is no reason why it should leak refrigerant unless there is obviously....a leak in the system.
But I've heard that it's common to have it leak out over the years in the E-class and CLK-class....
Any suggestions or advice?
