I have had good experiences at Frank Wanns with my ML270CDI. They diagnosed quite a complicated interactive problem with the EGR valve not coming on intermittently, hence no turbo, hence no oomph! Wanns have the current diagnosis software, etc, and his prices are a little better than the main dealer.
W203 C350 serviced by aforesaid main dealer, so far so good....
For my old 1968 W114 230, Lee at Circle Star motors (side street off Castle Plaza) did an excellent job of setting up the twin carburettors from scratch, so the car runs extremely well now. An electronic ignition from Hotspark in the USA was also a very worth while improvement, fitted by Bill Thomas of MB Autos. He also carried out the R&R of the cylinder head.
So you can see I shop around a bit, selecting who I think is likely to do the best job for the particular vehicle.
I hope you can get the problem sorted out - it's no fun driving a suboptimal vehicle!
