Removal/replacement of steering wheel control buttons?

Hi Audio Gurus,

I have a 2000 E320 wagon and the steering wheel control buttons are starting to wear out - the protective coating has worn away and they're just sticky now, so I want to replace them. Is this even possible? I've done a quick search and can't seem to find anything on this.

Do these things just pop out somehow? And is there a good place to pick up replacements, aside from the dealer?

Thanks!

Jonathan

Solutions reported at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...l-buttons.html. at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...l-buttons.html and http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...l-buttons.html - I don't know if any of the solutions is permanent.

I have seen instructions on how to remove the buttons posted on BW, but I don't have them bookmarked.
