2004 E320 Pre-Wired for Telephone

I have a 2004 E320 and the Service Tech tells me that my car is pre-wired for telephone. I do have the Tele-Aid system, if that makes a difference.

There is no cradle in the center console, nor is there any visible wire for a cradle hookup. The Service Tech told me that the wire may have to be pulled out from under the console.

Can anybody steer me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Actually wouldn't the "puck with tail" be the simplest option for this car?

You'll also need to make sure you have the "blue label" PSE.

Yes. It may also be necessary for the dealer to version code the system for full function. The U.S. '04 E-Class has the CP-211, which combines the cell PSE with Tele-Aid. It already has the proper PSE in place; using the puck-with-tail, having a blue label PSE is not a factor.

See http://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w2...ssions-2.htmlm for some tips on installation.

The only purpose a cradle serves is a place to hold the "puck" portion of the puck with tail. The "tail" connects the puck with the wiring under the floor of the console that the cradle would ordinarily plug into.

Thank you all for your help.

So, basically, all I would need to do is purchase a "puck with tail," hook it up directly to the cable in the false floor -- and I'm in business?

Thanks!
