The part number for the Comand Online Ltd iPhone 3G cradle is A 204 820 39 51. It works very well with a MBenzNL UHI kit in my 2003 CLK55. The 3G slips into this cradle much easier than with the non-3G cradle, but even better, the bluebooth connection works without the phone plugged into the cradle. So if want to charge your 3G, you plug it into the cradle, if not, leave it in your pocket/purse/etc. and you still have full hands-free control and phonebook download. I can promise that MBenzNL (Steve and Big Sis) will treat you right--they are first rate!
Please look for specific communication from MB-Accessories regarding a new iPhone 3G specific cradle.

Strange that I can't find anything directly from MB, but this is reassuring.
I still have a few question regarding the 3G cradle. Please correct me if any of this is incorrect. The cradle will charge the iPhone 3G and enable phone connectivity using the vehicles speakers and antenna, but it doesn't allow music playback To enable music playback I need to install the iPod integration kit. The iPod integration kit is installed in the glove box and the phone cradle is in the center console arm rest. Does the phone cradle need to connect to the iPod integration kit? Is there another cable I'd need to connect the two?
I found this website that says that they will have a 3G iPhone compatible cradle available on or after May 17th. OUTLOOK PRODUCTS Your Direct iPod Car Kit Source. The cradle is made by DICE electronics. I bought this cradle from them before I had the iPhone. Now that I have an iPhone I can't wait until the cradle comes in so I could dock my iPhone! It has a built in dock connector so any Mercedes iPod/iPhone stereo integration kit with a standard dock connector cable will work with it. I have the full DICE setup in my '08 CLS. Love it!

Just to report that I've sourced a cradle from the UK and that the supposedly "european" version (204 820 39 51) works just fine in my GL and fitting the phone is sheer heaven compared to the fight with the non-3g cradle.
BTW, the cradle is available in 2 versions: with and without the iPod pigtail.
I bought a 3G iPhone cradle from my dealer in Australia for my 08 S65 about 2 months ago. It works well as a phone but unlike my old Nokia, has no SMS support - I tell myself this is safety feature.
The cradle charges the iPhone but allows BT connection when not in the cradle. I'm quite happy with it - as a phone.
Last week the dealer tried installing a cable from the the ipod pigtail to the Comand but now I discover that this won't give me track info on the Comand screen but only info in the dashboard readout. I've already got an ipod interface in the glovebox that does this. Not sure what the solution is to the music problem - if there is one - but otherwise I'm happy with the cradle for using the phone.

Yes, all the new cable does is connect the pigtail to the existing glovebox iPod interface--there is indeed no change in how it functions.

It's a pity there seems to be no aftermarket multimedia interface kit to get the ipod info on to the Comand screen. The dashboard readout is crap. I'm using the DVD stacker instead of the ipod in the glovebox but burning DVDs is a pain.
