Thanks DB, this is good. Now i want to get a rear pic of the audio 20 without the APS
here you go.. as you can see the monitor cable plug is the same. I have heard of W204 owners retrofitting the flip up display to the audio 20 so I would guess that either monitor can work on either unit.
Thanks, I think the monitor wiring is different and so some modifications would be required to the Monitor power cable. Another consideration is the MBz puts an axial blower in the instrument panel just to provide more air for the larger unit.
BTW, on the Comand rear pic, I know that the Blue connector is for Aux Video, and the Green Connector is for Aux Video, does anyone else have the names for the rest of the connectors?
I do know that the two sets on the Left are RF, but I need to know the names to match them up to a wiring diagram.

yes, if you want to put the flip out monitor in then its different.. if you want to leave the smaller monitor then its not. the data cable however is the same.

Sorry for an off topic question but I've seen this option to mix and match the big display with Audio 20 and vice versa the small display with Comand, mentioned, are the displays really compatible in the sense that the number of pixels is the same, just the display area being different? I've noticed the same data connector pinout and the signals on the other connector seem the same although for some odd reason "randomised" by pin numbers. Has anyone really tried the mix?

Thats a good question... Like I said I havent done this myself, only heard from someone who said that they did this on a german forum. If I even get both trim level W204's in the Lab I will try swapping them around to see what happens.
I have actually been debating whether to install the unit without upgrading the monitor, but currently I am still looking for the larger monitor.
So anyone, on the back of the Comand unit, we have:
RF inputs from antennas
beige/white color
Aux Video
Green Color
Video to Display?
beige/white
Aux Audio
Blue Color
RF input from antenna
blue color
Am i correct?
close:
dual white FAKRA: AM/FM/LW/MW/SW antennas (unless combi HD/SAT tuner is installed in which case these are not used)
dual blue FAKRA: GPS and Bluetooth (GPS is the outside one, Bluetooth is the inside)
green FAKRA: Video input (used for either rear camera or Aux Video input)
white square 10 pin: monitor video output
black square 10 pin: tv tuner expansion
18 pin blue: aux audio input(for aux video), rear input, video output
main 40 pin connector:
A1: power/gnd/CANBUS/MOST wakeup
A2: speaker outputs
B(black 12 pin): telematics CAN, cooling fan
C(white 12 pin): audio aux or ipod input, microphone input, mic out to teleaid
D: MOST fiber
