Hello everyone and congratulations for the thread that is the most comprehensive found on the web! I read it all!
Anyone know tensions are detected on pin power cable for 7" display?
I bought a cable for retrofit from Portugal but appears to be wrong. No connection on pin 8 is a good sign?
Many thanks and best regards
Some have indicated that the original cable will work you just have to position the one side that goes to the rear of the display in a manner that allows it to seat the connector properly. It involved twisting the harness so you can get the correct position to get it into that area and connected. I went ahead and bought the correct cable, but based o what I heard, I tried out my original harness for the 5" display and i was able to get it connected too.
Can someone make a quick video on how to retrofit. I am extremely interested in retrofitting, but I am scared shi%$*ss!!! Also does anyone know the answer to these two questions:
Can European Comand units work in the US?
Is it essential that one installs the ac blower?
I bought all retrofit parts (cables, ducts, fan, etc...) I install it all ok (I think) but my radio and display flashing, my display flash black and white and when I turn off ignition it don't turn off. I haven't sound, I haven't image on display....
I saw that I don't have fibre optic in my car....
Can you help me please.... I don't know what I should do more....
Thanks and regards from Portugal (sorry about my english)

1) I have seen one person do it but they had to load US NAV, but then there were issues. So if you are thinking about buying a EURO NAV and using it over here - not a good idea.
2) If you were in Northern Canada, you might be able to get away with it, due to the extremely cold environment, but even the guys who live in Norway are including the Axial blower in their retrofits. Since you are in SoCAL, not a chance put it in. Kinda tough for the commonly skilled folk like myself to install, but for those expertly skilled people like VV, it was not an issue. I got everything in but that and tried for a while (did not want to drop the steering wheel) and the bailed and went to the dealer.
I have a question.....i have read the WIS document regarding the retrofit and i didn't understand about the FRONT SAM MODULE ...in the wis document it shows the SAM under the hood near the engine...vic didn't mentioned anything about this SAM module...and i have i wiring diagram... i am talking about N10/1 conector from the APS wiring harness...

Another question...the GPS antenna must pe place under the IC with the sticky part towards the windshield on the black plastic or reversed (the sticky part on the aluminium)?

GPS satellites are difficult to read through the aluminium case. Put the black plastic side upwards.
