IPod on TV pins?

Hello, all.

I want to make ipod connection to comand 2.0, via tv pins, so I can see track names on the cluster. Is this possible? Shouldn't I be able to do something with this pinout?

I think (and I may be wrong!) the phone is using pins 7, 8 and 9 (Can-B shield, LO and HI) of the C2 connector. Maybe I could use pins 16, 17 and 18 (Can-TV shield, LO and HI) of the same connector?

The phone when used in the phone kit only uses the fiber to send voice and data. the radio itself then sends information to the cluster over CAN-B. You would need to homebrew an adapter to read the ipod serial protocol and convert it to the mercedes CAN protocol to drive the cluster display. Thats *alot* of work.

Your other option would be to use the video out on the ipod and send that to the command LCD instead of the cluster. For that you will still need an adapter made by Dietz which will convert the composite video from the ipod to RGB and also send the necessary commands to enable video in over the TV-CAN lines.
