S-class 2004 year ( w220 ) 3.5 petrol, dvd-based navigation. So questions:
1.) I understand , that I have comand aps system , yes ?
2.) Do someone have experience of using dvd-navi-disc - Mercedes-Benz.Navigations-DVD.Comand.APS.(NTG1).2007-2008.(7.0).Europa ?
3.) Will this dvd-disc work on my system or should I update my firmware ( like updating MK bloks on bmw ) ?
It is always useful to mention your location. US vs Euro MB models differ, especially when it comes to head units.
I take it you have a DVD comand in dash, Euro spec (?), with a wide screen and 5 buttons on both left and right side of that screen? And with a separate navigation drive in the trunk (boot)?
There were big changes around V5.0 for those disks, with introduction of UK TMC. (traffic re-routing) - French TMC came shortly after that, and TMC in lots of Eastern Europe.
Worth upgrading, which country are you in ?
There are also head unit firmware upgrades (MB dealer has disks to do this) which are worth doing. If you are in UK (where we drive on the left) then you do need an dealer only update to the Audio-Gateway else the traffic jams show on wrong side of road !
