Just a data point for those considering Bluetooth phone solutions. I recently bought a V60 Bluetooth Cradle Adapter (better know as the PUCK). These just snap into your existing V60 cradle, if you are fortunate enough to have one. They want $436 for it at
Welcome to AWS for Mercedes-Benz The dealer quoted me $420 and they are usually available on ebay under $300. The web site specifies the phones that they guarantee are compatible. We don't own any of those phones so, I expected to have to get new phones. I also expected untold hassles getting everything to pair up.
I bought the adapter on ebay and snapped it in the car (2003 S500) yesterday. I followed the simple pairing instructions that came with the unit and those included in my phone handbook. The phone I paired was an old Nokia 6102i, which sure isn't on the compatibility list.
Everything worked the first time! The phone paired with the adapter. My address book automatically downloaded. Everything displays both on the instrument panel multifunction display and on the COMAND head unit. The steering wheel functions work and all the hands free functions work fine.
I'm sure there may be some obscure functions that may not be there, but I'm not sure I care. Overall, one of those really positive experiences.
