Compatibility of Mercedes iPod Integration Kit with the new iPod classic??

Hello
I have a 203 Mercedes(year 2004) and I have installed a iPod integration kit. I have 30Gb 5G iPod and it works perfectly.
I want to sell my old iPod and buy the new 80Gb iPod classic and I was wondering if this ipod is compatible with the Mercedes integration kit.
Did somebody tried the new ipod classic in their car?

Hi,

I had the iPod Integration Kit installed in my E200K a week ago and last Sunday got myself an iPod Classic 160Gb model.

It works perfectly.

However at first i thought that there was a problem with the sound as it came out a little distorded compared to the MP3-DVD i had in the COMAND.

I played a little with the Bass and Treble settings on the Comand which did ot make much difference. Then i turned to the iPod equaliser settings
and selected the preset setting for reducing bass output from the ipod.
This solved the problem and now everything is perfect.

The bass on the Comand HU had to be set to the left of centre. Now the sound is just ok.

Now the only music playing in the car is from the iPod.

The only two items i would like to be a bit different are the following:

1) iPod to stop charging once the HU is off or the key is out of the ignition.

2) Ability to use the HU controls and screen as well as the steering wheel controls to go through the menu and make selections.
