I have a new to me 98 E300 with the Bose sound system with an Alpine CD head unit. I know this is a common problem but I was hoping someone could tell me where to start looking. When I hit a bump I lose a few speakers until the next bump. I know I have a loose connection somewhere but where should I start looking? Back of the head unit? Amps under the rear seat? I lose more than one speaker so I don't think it is at a single speaker, it must be at a junction or common point somewhere. Any help is appreciated.
If you haven't done so you might try reseating each end of multi-connector cable between the Alpine and the MB harness (radio off). You might also flex each conductor of the cable near the crimps with the radio on to see if any short out. Good luck.
