Clock Adjustment

Hi everyone! I need help to adjust the clock in my 2004 SL350 Japanese spec. It's showing Japan's time which is one hour ahead from where I live (Malaysia). There's no button at the clock itself to fiddle like other Japanese cars. I can only changed the clock from 12hrs to 24hrs time via the steering column. I read somewhere in this forum that it can be adjusted but no method posted. Can anyone help me? I would really appreaciate any help. Thanks again.

P/S This is how the COMAND looks like and I don't read, write or speak Japanese.

Haven't you figured out how to change the Comand language to English?

If the car has navigation, it should read the time from GPS. You should still be able to adjust it by hours. Should be done via the Comand interface (although I'm not familiar with this car and definitely not this Comand).

Thanks Diesel Benz. I haven't been able to change the language completely to English (is this possible?). The car has navigation and from the littel that I've learned from this forum, the time adjustment can be done thru COMAND Navi, but I still can't figure it out.

These are the two things I need to get done first and foremeost and helps are very much appreciated.

I hope someone who would have the same unit could help. I only have a user guide for the W220 Comand (in addition to the W221) and it appears to have different buttons.

On this one you would have a SERV button and a system settings menu there, further the time menu. On this unit the time format menu is visible at the level you would be adjusting the time. Odd if you have found the format menu but did not reach the option to adjust time (hours). Or did you refer to the time format on the instrument cluster?

artoo,

Your best bet is to ask someone who reads Japanese and English to assist you in changing the system language to English. Once you get to the proper menu (which I hope the translator can help you with), the menu choices should confirm whether it can be done.

Once you can read the menus, the changes is probably made much as described in the U.S. version - I hope. I have absolutely no experience with the Japanese specification units. However, if the same as U.S. COMANDs, language settings and time settings are made in the Systems Settings menu. That is accessed by selecting the "SVC" button, then scrolling to the "System Settings" menu. Once there, scroll to language or date/time. Unfortunately, I do not see a "SVC" button in the photo you supplied, and some of the labels on the buttons are either in Japanese, or i cannot make them out. if you have the Japanese COMAND manual, perhaps the translator can assist you in accessing the System menu.

If it is of any use to you, the COMAND manual for the U.S, version of your COMAND is at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/COMA...L%20COMAND.pdf - but I don't know how much of it will be the same. We'd appreciate some feedback from you on this.

Also - and I don't know if it is true for your car - the language for the instrument cluster display in my U.S. spec '05 is independent of the COMAND display. It is set in the instrument cluster in the "instrument cluster" menu. This may not be true for all cars. The choices in my U.S. spec car are all European languages.

Diesel Benz, my friend's SL has the W220 and it has the SERV button like you said and it's quite easy to change the time, I've tried it. When I changed the time format (12 to 24 hrs) on my unit, I did it on the instrument cluster. Not on the COMAND itself. Thanks again.
