Is your W210 a facelift car, or before facelift? Do you have other audio accessories, CD-changer and/or a phone kit? A face lift car would have D2B connected accessories but if you don't have any, the lack of fibre bus would not be an issue. A/B connectors should be the same. The face lift car at least only has permanent power on the wiring harness, you would need to feed this device with switched power but you can get that from the cigarette lighter.

I have the original Mercedes Cassatte player? all are stock and original....
W210 changed its face a bit somewhere at 1999 or so (had a MY2000 car which was after the face lift). I believe D2B came along at that time, I should check it to be more accurate.
Just for the update of the subject and for sake of others seeking the same question to be answered; I got a confirmation from Becker that the unit will work on my car without any cable modifications as it turned out that my factory Mercedes player is a Becker BE2210, here is the response:
"Pinning of socket A (supply voltages and special functions) is pin compatible. Socket B (loudspeaker) is compatible as well.
But only socket C is not compatible neither in connector dimension nor in function.
Consequently the BE 7990 can be installed by using the existing and present connector of the car (A+B)
with kind regards
