2007 E350 - Ipod & phone cradle

So $800 for the Ipod adapter and $700 something for the phone cradel? Is my dealer cheating me? I couldn't get him to throw either in on the purchase today. Any suggestions? I searched the forums but didn't see may solutions.

$800 for the installed iPod adapter seems a bit high. See the post at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...=iPod+kit+cost for some discussion.

Assuming you car already has the handsfree phone option installed, a plug-in phone cradle should be around $200 (plus the cost of the phone, which can be very high - my V710 was $550); or if you're going to use Bluetooth, the new Bluetooth puck is around $400 plus the cost of a compatible phone from your service provider (this can be very inexpensive).

I have a 2007 CLK 350 with the Premium I package -- so I am told the car is "pre-wired" for a phone. I would like to get the bluetooth adapter, however, I cannot seem to locate the plug that should be in the center console to install the bluetooth adapter in. What am I missing? Thanks.

You don't even find a plastic cap covering the actual connector?

I just purchased a 2008 CLK converable, It does have the Premium package which supposidly means it is prewired for phone, but I almost fainted when I heard what the dealer wanted to charge to add blue tooth.

I see no cap or connector of any kind in the arm rest.


Have you or anyone had success upgrading to bluetooth with some 3rd party product?

the nav-tv tooki bluetooth kit should work in your vehicle.. It will give you the same functionality as the factory kit. The difference is that the aftermarket piece does not have the cradle/antenna/amplifier so the cost is lower: about $1000 installed.

I went to their web site, but they did not list Mecedies as a car they supported?

Considering the high cost of adding basic features you may want to look at just getting a better quality feature rich after market head unit.

Sure it won't have Mercedes stamped on it but is that really worth paying crazy amounts to add extra features?

For the same 800 you can get a Kenwood exelon series head unit with fold out screen with built in blue tooth ipod control video playback and hd radio. And all that is actually for 599. For about 300 more you can get it with navigation (but if you are using an iphone then the nav is kinda of a waste)
