Re.: Year 2000 430CLK Cabriolet

GPS Navigator, which one, Garmin nüvi 350 GPS Receiver ???

Thinking of getting this unit (Pls. see link below).

Looking for portable add-on.
Am NOT going to replace/remove my radio,
or any other systems in my vehicle.

Any pros - cons, recommendations of other units ?

Thanks.

For car, I prefer the Streetpilot 26xx/27xx/28xx series. Because they have a mechanical power switch, you can wire them to 12V switched power and leave them on all the time while the car is running. This eliminates the new location search for satellite time a portable unit will need at power up.

The Nuvi's are nice too but you will need to turn them on due to the push on/push off power switch. You can probably leave them on all the time too if you drive the car everyday.

I was in the dealership last week and saw that MB now resell Garmin portable units to compliment the Comand built-in units. They offer a nice dash mount to manage the cables better.

I use the Nuvi 350 and love the unit.

I bought it from Costco on sale for $350 and a mount off of ebay for I think around $30.

The unit is fully programmable and easy to use.

I've attached my setup.
