My MY01 W163 did not have any phone electronics but did have pre-wiring, so I bought a blue label (autosense) PSE, a v60 cradle and a bluetooth puck. I have a 1998 COMAND that is not upgradeable (probably from an E-class) that I bought through the internet in Germany.
I manufactured a phone loom because I could not find a MB one anywhere (few dealers in the US answer e-mails from Mexicans, and Mexico MB does not support phones). I used Paul H. Dick's diagrams and using a db25 to RJ10 connector from a company called L-com, I built a homemade loom which I have tested thoroughly several times for logical consistency.
In COMAND, instead of the "Kein Telefon" (without a telephone) message I had before, I now get a "Telefon nicht getreckt" (telephone not connected). CD player works fine with the PSE in the ring, which means that D2B wakeup and external power to the PSE are functional. However, the puck does not start up. I checked the voltage in the cradle and external power gets 2.45 V, battery feedback gets 0, and I get higher voltages in RX or TX (can't remember which one). Phone manual says that I should be getting 4.5 V in external power, 3 V in battery feedback. Since the puck does not have a battery, the feedback circuit probably does not work anyway.
Do you think this problem is related to the PSE, the loom, the cradle or the puck? I understand what I did with the loom, and the fact that the PSE and COMAND seem to communicate make me think that the problem is either in the cradle or the puck. Any suggestions?
Well, my problem is with the integrated phone that is in the arm rest. I no longer have service on the phone, and the previous owner actually unplugged the phone.*
The issue is that it is constantly and randomly attempting to call on its own. It will stop my stereo, and start ringing. Then of course, the automated voice will say the your call can not be completed because you do not have service in your area ( or something like that)
It is very annoying
Does anyone know how to stop this? is there a switch or setting that will stop my phone from interrupting my stereo. or to stop it from automatically dialing on its own!?
Hopefully I will be able to go through that Blutooth option eventually.... and hopefully that will also solve this problem.
BUT, until then.... WHAT can I do to stop my phone from trying to dial/ call on its own.
(I have the Palm Treo 755P cellphone.... and i think the car is trying to connect with its bluetooth automatically or something.)
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Skylaw...sorry to be a pest but I'm still searching for the ARGOS (or whatever) product that will work in my '07 CLK. Car does not have Premium package or NAV.
Believe it or not, I ordered from EuroCarPhones and had to return it because they couldn't provide installation instructions. Specifically, they couldn't tell me if I had to remove the radio or how to do it.
The only thing I could think of under your circumstances is a malfunction in tele-aid. The tele-aid system is a self-contained dedicated cell phone. It was designed to function regardless of whether there was any other cell phone installed. For your model year, it is also analog only, and there is no longer analog cellular service in the U.S. - so it cannot connect to anything.
I do not believe it is possible for calls to be placed, or for you to receive any voice feedback whatever, if there is no regular cell phone connected in your car. That's why I believe the problem you describe is occurring in the tele-aid unit, especially if the tones and voice you hear interrupt other audio, and are heard on the car's main speakers. The first thing to check is whether any of the buttons used to place calls is perhaps depressed, or if something is resting against it. Check your owner's manual for the Tele-Aid button locations.
There is no way for your Treo to connect via Bluetooth, because the StarTac equipment in your car is not Bluetooth, and Bluetooth cannot be added to it without replacing a number of components.
The only remaining possibility I can think of is that a prior owner, if there was one, installed non-MB phone equipment that your Treo is attempting to connect with.
Other than purchasing the OE MB equipment and retrofitting it to your car, or installing the Argos unit as you tried, I have no other suggestions.
My understanding of the Argos is that it simply replaces the PSE. I have never installed one, and would prefer that this thread stay focused on MB equipment. There are other threads on the Argos unit.
You might be interested in the post at at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...os#post2735418' although it was for a D2B equipped car, Argos has released one of its two MOST kits - probably the one you purchased. However, contributor Rob13572468 will know far more about installing them than I do.
However, I do not know if there is an Argos unit certified for the '07 CLK. You may just have to go with OE.
Skylaw...thanks again for the info! I didn't realize that MB can retro-fit the car with this equipment. When I asked the salesman, he said that it couldn't be done because the car did not have a premium package.
If you can, would you tell me a little more about the MB parts. What's involved? What do I ask for? Can it be ordered thru their parts department? Can I install it myself?
Tell the dealer to check the phone bulletin for your '07 CLK, order the parts, and install it. The clinker may be the pre-wiring (the harnesses that he various pieces of equipment plug into). I don't know if your car had it - if so, the install is easy - DIY except for the version coding that will have to be done (under $100 for the dealer to do it).
If not, installing the harnesses is a labor-intensive task, and will increase the costs significantly. However, it can be done.
The absence of the harnesses could very well be why you had problems with the Argos installation, as well.
I have a 2001 CLK 55 AMG with a working timeport phone on Sprint's network. My phone is beat up pretty good and decides not to work sometime when I carry it around. It seems to be OK in the car though. I was going to upgrade my system with a MIKBOX solution and change my service to Verizon. The home page is down but everything else on the site is working. but since it has not been updated for so long I was scared to order. Has anyone ordered from them lately? If the site is down, does anyone have any other inexpensive alternatives to upgrade my system?
