Can you tell me what device should I buy to replace current one in my w211 '04.
Is this a US or a European car (would be useful if you had your location indicated in your profile). It must be either an option code 381 or 383 kit.
I'm not sure if the US version is GSM but the European control unit should accept a SIM card. I would purchase a parallel SIM to my subscription and start using this kit instead of replacing it with a new one.
From our VIN one could have a look at the exact control unit you have in the car. If it was a US car, perhaps it has the Tele-Aid device that accepts the puck with tail.
Sorry I forgot
It's Euro car.
And this unit in the central console is GSM phone.
It works perfect with other SIM card inside but I want to use bluethoot connection. (we are in 21st century) with different phones.
So I saw this puck with tail in pics and the connector looks like mine so probably I just can plugged
Does anyone have pics of the plug?

The "puck with tail" BT adapter is intended to work with a specific phone/Tele-Aid control unit and only intended for the US market.
This phone kit that you have isn't really common in Europe, I'm not sure if it even was using the same control unit. I doubt though because the Tele-Aid portion should have been AMPS based, not sure what the US cell phone technology was at that time, should not have been AMPS at 2003/2004.
You can find some more info from AWS and also from these forums (could be at the W211 section).
Hello ,
i just bought a german w211 model 2004 . it has the buttons for the phone on steering wheel and on the screen of the audio sysyem .. complete buttons , but there is no phone in the arm set handle , or a base for it. i thought it is bluetooth , but the screen keeps saying telephone unavailable when i turn bluetooth on my mobile. could be just accessories wires? or what is the case exactly ..
Thank you
There are no steering wheels available without the phone buttons and there are no radios available without the phone buttons.
The buttons being there means nothing as regards whether car is equipped for phone use.
Thank you for the quick reply lkchris,
ok i understand, but what should i check for to know if bluetooth is available on my car as well , coz the function screen displays the telephone unavilable.
There is no built-in bluetooth for your car.
If in your arm rest there is no UHI/MHI connector you can buy "puck with tail" modul but it support only few motorola phones
If you have UHI/MHI connector just buy the newest SAP bluetooth module.
Does anybody know if you can pair 2 phones with your BT puck. Most of the people now days carry 2 cell phones like personal and work. So can you pair both with a car and if one rings you answer that one or if other one rings you answer that one (not both at the time)
Generally, you can pair up to four phones - but the puck will search for the last one paired, and then work its way back if it can't find it. You can't use more than one phone at a time with the puck.
Some pucks are more limited; some offer pairing with only two phones, and the RAZR Bluetooth/cradle combos will only pair with RAZRs.
