Ouch ... I think I read all posts here ... feeling like I am going through a jungle .. deeper I go more trees at fron of me
Which is exactly why I bit the bullet (a $2400 bullet in my case) and had the dealer do it. Also I knew that if anything got fried during the install it would be the dealer's problem instead of mine.

I just got a nice 2006 S500 with just 17 k miles on. A nice sweet machine.
It came (according to the spec sticker) with phone prewired ... however no plug or cradle of any kind in on the console.
I went to the dealer and asked for phone installation ... answer was about $2,000. for a kit.
So the question is: are the parts listed above for E350 be applicable for my '06 S500 ? If not anybody knows what to look for ??
The parts for the 2005 S-Class will work for your car (unless there has been an update - your dealer can tell you). See the phone bulletin for the '05. Links are in the first few writeups.
In reading all of this, stay focused on what kind of system you have; in your case it is an MHI system. The complexity comes into play for older systems, because there have been several approaches to updating them.

A huge thank You !
MHI it is than. I am going to get the bluetooth kit on ebay and install it myself. I have some practice while doing Mikbox on my S430 '00 model. It worked great until last Saturday (when I tradet in for my S500 )It does not look to difficult in this case. I remember there was more work with the old Command system.
On ebay the whole kit is about $1300
Yikes ....
The Bluetooth puck that is compatible with the widest number of phones is part # B6 787 5878. The older version's firmware is not compatible with as many phones.
Someone may respond to your request in this string, but I believe it has already been answered elsewhere in this forum. For information on compatibility with specific phone models, please do a search on the kind of phone. The kind of puck you have is a bigger factor than the kind of car, in this instance.
I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you mean that you have a phone cradle in the center console or by 'phone ket pad' are you referring to the buttons on the COMAN unit? If the latter then it sounds like your car is equipped the same way mine was and you will need the parts enumerated in this post:
