Just replaced the v60 cradle with the Bluetooth device (B6787 5878) in my 2005 E320. Was able to pair with Razr V3 and with Blackberry 8820. Both loaded directory to car, but Blackberry only loaded some records - couldn't detect any common trait of loaded records. Telling Blackberry to download phone book results in an error. Found easy fix (plus speeds loading) was to put numbers I wanted loaded to car in a category (can do it on Blackberry or in Outlook) and then specify that Category to download in the Blackberry bluetooth options menu.
Haven't tried all of the features yet to see what actually works, but any "pause" or "wait" commands in the phone numbers result in a failed call attempt - apparently they get translated coming into the car and then are unrecognized by the Blackberry when dialing.
Thanks for all you do in this forum. After reading this page I am still wondering about my problem. I have installed the Benz Bluetooth cradle replacer (part# 6-7-87-5855 which is a Motorolla puck with a cable attached to it) in my car. It pairs with my Razor phone smoothly and I know my phone SW is compatible. The problem is that my command does not recognize the puck and it shows: Tel not installed! Subsequently none of the integrated buttons work. On the other hand when I dial a number on my phone the command automatically turns on and the connection establishes but you cant hear any voices! Now to make this more interesting every now and then out of the blue it suddenly does work ( you can have a conversation through the car speakers) eventhough the system still says: Tel not installed and none of the buttons respond!
I have taken it to the dealer twice so far and they have upgraded the command firmware and checked my system for any problems. It has not made any difference and they dont know what to do next!! I wonder if I need version coding or some other procedure. Could you please help me? you are the only hope I have left at this time.
Look forward to your response with excitement.
Thank You

I have a 2005 E320 so I believe it is pre-wired, so what would I need to add the bluetooth cradle? I was quoted $2100 to do the job, but can't believe thats the cost when it's already pre-wired.

$2100 ha? you know what that means? It means they are idiots and have no clue how to fix it so they just tell you that in order to get rid of you! I am hoping that we can find out in this forum what is going on then tell these people what to do and solve the problem.
My guess is either version coding is needed or some kind of a STAR diagnosis that tells our system there is a phone installed. does your system also randomly work?

I think what might be the issue is there is also a TEL activation function in the Teleaid menu on the service guy's computer that needs to be activated. This issue has been mentioned before, and that was the response.

thanks for your quick response. It makes sense, I am just puzzled that the dealer did not think of this when I visited them twice!
See the portion of post #7 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...do-i-need.html for how to identify whether you have an MHI contact plate (but use the phone bulletin for your car). Also check the very first post in this "How-To Guide" for the meaning of "prewired."

So assuming that my bluetooth problem is going to be solved soon let me ask you about voice control module. I asked the dealer for a quote and they came back and told me that a voice control system will never work with my bluetooth!!
Again I have installed the Benz Bluetooth cradle replacer (part# 6-7-87-5855 which is a Motorolla puck with a cable attached to it) and I cant grasp why that would not work with voice control??!! I understand once the integrated system downloads the phonebook assuming that VCM becomes part of the integration then they should work together. Can someone please let me know what obstacles I should expect a head if I purchase the VCM kit?
What parts do I need and what are the part numbers? Do you know of any good deals?
honestly if I did not have you guys I would regret buying a Benz right now. I cant believe how incompetent the dealer is here in Utah!
Thank You

I can think of absolutely no reason why voice control will not work with Bluetooth. It certainly did with my RAZR V3c, installed in my '05, with a RAZR Bluetooth combo cradle. It did not perform every function as it was performed on the phone - for example, the V3c has its own voice dial capability that I could not access, but I could certainly use the voice control's own voice dial capability that is separate from the phone. The voice control capability was not dependent on the phone being plugged into the cradle, either. It worked whether plugged in or not, as long as pairing was active.
There is a LOT your dealer doesn't know about this system.
Murray von Kanada may be absolutely correct about not setting up your COMAND to recognize that a phone has been installed. That is called version coding. The instructions for doing it are in the phone bulletins for your car at Phone Bulletins - which also contain the part numbers and installation instructions for the voice control system (the COMAND must also be version coded for the voice control unit for it to work).
You assured us that your firmware on your RAZR is compatible with the puck; I presume you confirmed this through AWS. You would also have to you'd have to activate the Bluetooth function on your RAZR and then set a code on the phone to be able to mate the phone to the puck. The instructions that come with the puck give your the code. If you have done these things properly, your phone should mate - and the only other answers are a bad puck, a bad phone, a bad connection, or failure to version code for the new equipment.
