robsant,

For new, try your dealer, or do a google search for mercedes phone parts. One supplier is at Mercedes Bluetooth, but I don't know how prices compare to the dealer. Other than that, it's ebay.

One additional factor - MB has announced "End-Of-Life" for some of the kits for older models (this should not affect your '05) - so if owners of older cars try to order the parts as a whole kit, they may be told they are no longer available. However, the individual components of the kits are still available - they just may not all be packaged together. The part numbers may have changed from a "BQ" (kit) part number to an "A" (component) part number.

Thanks for the info

I've found this post very informative, thanks!
I still have a question, though... I just bought an '01 E320 Wagon 4Matic and there is a phone cradle in the armrest. I hope that's a good sign!
How do I check to see if I have the right PSE to just buy and plug in the bluetooth Puck and start interfacing with my iPhone?

The best way is to check the part number of the PSE itself. It is located under the floor, behind the seats in your Wagon; see the phone bulletins referenced in the writeup, and the part numbers of various PSEs are also provided.

The chances are you have a TimePort PSE; however, some cars sold with TimePort phones (and cradles) were equipped with Autosense PSEs. I believe this happened mainly during '02 production, so determining the PSE by the type of cradle installed is not reliable.

If you don't have the Autosense (sometimes called the Dual sense) PSE, you will need one. You will also need the V60s cradle.

I just bought an '08 ML320 with a P2 package. What do I need to get bluetooth working in my car? I notice that there is a connector for the craddle in my car already. Thanks.

You need a Bluetooth puck and a compatible phone. Check the AWS website at the link provided in earlier posts.

I don't know. Check the AWS site, or your dealer. Frankly, that doesn't look like an MB part number to me, but I don't keep track of the puck part numbers.

Just an update and a question.....

found a used V60 cradle got myself a new puck - everything works just perfect.....Thanks again, what a great post!!!

Now, with my voice command "dial" the voice of the prior owner (I believe) is listing his mother phone and others to be dialed......How can I get rid of those - don't wanna talk to his mother :-)
Most other voice commands for the radio, and for the ipod/cd changer works ok, with the "next track" for the ipod, can't get any response.

The ipod interface/control instead of the cd changer is a bit odd, but the pod gets charged and it plays nicely through Harmon Karmon system

BTW 2004 G500

Thanks,

Karl

Paul Dick has posted a Voice Recognition System Operator's Guide at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/VCM/...M%20Manual.pdf - you will want to delete the prior user's phone book (which is stored in the Voice Recognition Module memory) and replace it with your own. Instructions are a page 17.

I don't have a certain answer to the iPod question. I normally use the steering wheel controls for volume and song election, and the HU (COMAND in my case) for playlist, artist, or album selection. I suspect that because track selection on the iPod would require use of the Fast Forward function to load the track (playlist, etc.) where it would not require it for a CDC, that's where it breaks down. Changing tracks on a CD is the equivalent of advancing songs by scrolling on the iPod.

You might try loading a playlist with your Fast Forward function, then trying to change tracks within the playlist.
