W211 CAN-BUS

CAn anyone shed some light on the CANBUS signal path?

Are the components serial or parallel?

My audio components seem to have divorced themselves from the rest of my instrument cluster.. so my car doesn't see the radio,IPOD, nor the telephone (not installed) from the instrument cluster. just blank lines on those pages.

I lost signal somewhere, but I don't know where yet.

Is the ipod interface a serial connection? so if there is no Wake-up signal at that connection, could it knock out everthing downstream? just trying to brainstorm here...
Also my NAV has lost it's speed signal.. This is all related somehow but where?? a fuse somewhere?

Somebody please help.......

RE: W211 CAN-BUS

The CAN Buses are serial. The MOST bus is connected to CAN-B via the AWG. The CAN-B, CAN-C and CAN-D each has its own bus and connected to other CAN via gateways. Unlike MOST, CAN bus has no separate wake-up bus.

I haven't installed the ipod interface yet but it should connect to CAN-B and not to MOST directly.

CAN-B is also able to run over MOST. Otherwise how will a keypress run to the TV tuner in the SL, CL, S.
