Man, do MB make everything this complicated? I just want to tap the speaker wires to add an additional amp and a sub. the clk430 convertible is a pain in the butt to get to the amp. In order to tap to the speaker, I have to remove the door panel??? Is there an better way (easier way) to do this?...Don't tell me to go to the professional for installation.lol

Just tap into the speaker wires in the back of the headunit? If they are any there.. Which I assume there are..
I called the company that sold the rca converter and the tech guy said that I have to tap to the speaker not the speaker outlet from the head unit since I have an amp. I thought it's kind of strange. He said that it won't work if I tap it to the head unit.
Thanks.

This is only true if you have a Bose system which has a separate amp between the HU and the speaker. Otherwise both end of the speaker wire should be the same.
Even with a convertible, you should have rear speakers in the car. These may be easier to get to than the door speakers.
Yes, I have the bose system with an amp in the back. No, I don't have the rear speakers. All 4 are on both doors, 2 on each door. Anyways, I did it without taking off the door panel or goes through the amp. Thanks everyone for all your help....
