Pillar Panel Removal - Help!!!!

I need to get into the pillar where the antenna amp and connection is made on my '98 E300D. Is there anyone who can provide some assistance in how to start pulling it apart. I have taken apart a lot of old Merc's but never a newer one such as this. I'm trying to get to this today in the sunlight.....

Any help will help!
Thanks,
Richard

RE: Pillar Panel Removal - Help!!!!

Don't be intimidated by it. I installed a handsfree kit mic in every one of my 6 cars. My R171 SLK A pillar trim is attached very much like my Toyota Prius and the old GMC Suburban. A door trim tool may help some.

The most damage I made was the need to replace a few push-in plastic fastners. As your car is 7 years old, those plastic pieces loses flexibility after 3-4 years.

With the wide spread use of plastics, these cars will not live for 50 years. As clever as these MB designers are, they are pushing the state of the art just a little bit.
