nokia 6310 in a 2003 E class

I have a MB installed nokia 6310 in a 2003 E class. The cradle in the armrest has A211 820 1451 written on it (I assume this is the kit type). The kit works fine through the steering wheel, radio, keypad and instrument cluster. No real problems encountered except I sometimes get the message PHONE OFF when it is actually on--so I take it out and put it in again and it usually works.
But now I want to get a new model Nokia but they all need different car kits which I have been told will not integregrate with the MB car kit. Do MB or any of the readers know of an adapter cradle which I could use for the newer Nokia phones or can a blue tooth integrate with the MB car kit. I do not want to loose the functionality of the existing MB car kit which is great but I want a better Nokia phone.
My MB dealer here in Ireland says there are plans to bring out a new kit but they are still selling the same kit I have as yet.
Im not to bothered which phone manufacturer I choose but my 6310i phone is no longer adequate. It seems that car kits are just like ink cartridges for a printer-each manufacturer makes its own, but I think it is fair to assume that a company of MB stature should have an option to modify there factory installed car kits to suit new phones..
Any help appreciated.
PS The kit is so usefull that if nothing can be done I'll keep the phone until i get my next MB (2006 new ML hopefully)

Check out www.mikbox.com. I have it. It is awesome and MUCH cheaper than changing out your PSE.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the site and its looks like it has possibilities. At least i know someone is doing something.
But I would prefer a proper off the shelf solution. I need my phone to work, even if it is an old Nokia, so I cant be a guinea pig or tester.

RE: nokia 6310 in a 2003 E class

Quite interesting - I had just enquired about this at one of our local dealers here in Cape Town. I have a 2000 E430 with the Nokia 3110 integrated into the COMAND and my dad has a 2003 E500 with a Nokia 6310i integrated into the COMAND. Guys here have no idea when MB will introduce Bluetooth to their cars. I can't upgrade either of these to a bluetooth kit, but I can upgrade the E430's kit to the same as the E500. It really is frustrating. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket TV tuners and DVD players for these models?
