The volume in my 1995 c280 tends to get louder by about one level when I increase speed. It will stay at that level for a while and then may just drop back down one level. the occurence of the increase and decrease is varable and does not happen every time I increase or decrease speed. Is this one of those speed sensitive radios Mercedes uses? If so shoulden't it increase decrease regularly as i increase decrease speed? Can I by pass this feature?
Thanks,
Graydog
From your description, it seems that your radio does have a speed-dependant volume control feature. This is usually bypassable. What model is your radio? This will help to determine how to bypass it? If you don't know the model, send a photo.
Usually to bypass it, the speed-dependant volume control wire is disconnected from the radio. I'm not sure if there were any radios that had the enable/disable feature built-in to the settings.
Hi Greydog...
I am a new owner of a 2002 ML-320 that has EXACTLY the volume "problem" you are describing, and wish to disable it. Have you had any luck (on your own or at a dealer)?
Thanks!
