Mute wire from radio of 98 e300td with factory phone.for BTooth...........

I am having a blue tooth car kit installed in my e300td and the installer said the radio mute function would not work because these radios do not have mute funtion unless there was previous factory phone. Well my car has a factory phone so I was told it has a Mute wire. Does anyone know what color the mute wire is that is coming out of headunit? thaks chris
