Just reading the history list and all it seems like for standard W124 it seems the main area of concern in picking a set of alloys is one that won't rub on the wheel arches and fender rather than rubbing on the strut, seems like u can have a pretty deep wheel (high ET value) but not one with a fairly low ET one.
