US versus Euro COMAND's

The US version has FM, AM and weather radio bands. The Euro version has the same FM band, but a different AM band. The US AM band starts at 630KHz and goes to 1710 KHz in 10KHz intervals. The Euro band starts at 631 KHz and goes to about 1600 KHz in 9 KHz intervals. The Euro COMAND has a long wave band (useless in the US) in place of the weather band.

The Euro version has RTS which shows the name of the station and other info such as song names, etc. Few stations in the US use this. The Euro version car receive traffic warnings by radio which are not used in the US.

The person selling the COMAND's is Steve Krabbenborg. He lives in the Netherlands, but makes several trips to the US to install COMAND's. he can be reached at www.mbenz.nl Also he has a listing on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409596697&category=38 653

My Euro COMAND works fine with my Bose and the MB-Alpine cd changer will work also. For an additional $50, Steve will install the factory AUX input in the glovebox.
