Ok, so there seems to be a bit of a spat between NGK and Bosch spark plugs.
I happen to be looking for some replacement washers for spark plugs (if anyone knows where I can get them, please let me know), and I g00gled across this thread on a bimm@r site:
Is your motor ticking? - check your spark plugs... - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
See post #8. Pretty funny. I've used Bosch and NGK's (both non-resistor coppers), and I've never noticed much of a difference. What I have noticed, however, is people slamming Bosch's quality, and people slamming NGK's for just being Japanese. Others are also saying that only Bosch makes non-resistor plugs.... Lots of un-substantiated info based on baseless biases (I personally have non-resistor NGK's, but I wouldn't hesitate putting in Bosch if I had 'em).
I guess the fun never ends.... Peace.
