On my 03 CLK 500, it is located in the lower right grille next to the foglight.

I do not think ambient temp malfunction will initiate CEL, but I could be wrong. I believe that the signal also goes to the a/c system.

Access to this sensor is not quite so easy, as it is located in the void behind the right fender lining. To remove that you need to remove the right wheel. The inner fender lining is in 3 parts. Only the front section has to be removed to get access to this sensor. See WIS info below:

 

but the ac is working fine its ok the outside temp is saying that it is 185 F and when it started to say that the check engine turned on ????

 

Your CEL and the OTS have nothing in common, so the CEL means an engine problem.

im gonna replace the outside air temp with a new one and see what will happen ok guys thnks in advance

 

i just replaced the outside temp sensor and it worked fine i wated 5 min and then turned off the car then i started it and the check engine light went off thnak u guys

 

And where exactly is your outside temperature sensor located?
