The ONLY thing then is whether the temp probe reaches into the gearbox case far enough to be accurate, or if all of the metal components in the area are going to be the same temperature more or less, and the stacked adapters won't really matter.
One Thing I like about the adapter for the VDO sender is that it adds very little depth to the arrangement, so that the Temperature probe is well into the case, and into the oil.
The oil cooler set-up, with the stainless fixtures also put the sensors in the oil flow. |
You got a point there.
The probe looks like it sticks out by half an inch, before the adapter. It would probably come flush with the tranny case. The probe would still be flooded by fluid though.
