My 316 does this if you fill the engine oil to the max mark on the dipstick, I always now when changing or topping up the oil only fill to just below the max mark about 5-10mm below. Think it has somthing to do with the fairly large amount of oil the engine holds that when it gets hot it expands enough to put the warning light on!!
