I took my ML in for servicing relating to the sun roof and they got grime all over the trim (which really pissed me off since the ML is only 6 months old). Anyway, I used Simple Green and it removed the grime marks without a problem. I repeated the process with a wet towel (water) to ensure that the cleaner would not discolor the fabric.
