sprinter 312 rear suspension upgrade

Hello again- its been a while. I got a trailer in the end and that made me legal again so thanks to benzworld for the help. However I'm a bit bored of feeling every bump in the road so I am looking at options for upgrading the suspension. On my 98 MWB ex ambulance I currently have single leaf springs at the rear (rated for 3200kg), so I could:

-get some twin leaf rear springs from a van breakers, rated 3500kg. about £50 each, but hard to find.
-get an aftermarket spring upgrade from midland road springs or someone like that. About £200 a pair, I'm not sure of their rating.
-go the pikey way and buy a pair of used single leaf springs (£30 each), cut the ends off and drill out a hole for the centre pin, and slide them in in under the exisiting springs. will prob need bigger U bolts and clamps to stop them sliding over each other. they won't sit flat but they will touch at the middle and ends and should act like quite a sturdy relief spring.

I'd appreciate any advice on the last option, or other possibilities.

Thanks

felix
